Taimate ROY R38

We are extremely excited to introduce this exclusive semen sire to you as we are able to offer some of the first sons to sell across Australia!

Roy hails from a leading New Zealand Angus stud, Taimate Angus, situated in the coastal dry-land area of Ward in the South Island. Notably our feature sire from 2024 was the famed Taimate Lazarus L12 who produced our top seller T24.

Roy was exclusively brought into Australia by a handful of leading Angus Studs including Millah Murrah Angus, Milwillah Angus, Coonamble Angus, Keringa Angus and Alpine Angus with semen held in escrow until Spring 2024. Roy’s semen is now commercially available through Agrigene – Agrigene 2024 Spring Update 

Taimate Stud Principal, Paul Hickman, describes Roy as “the best all-round bull we’ve ever bred. With phenotype, pedigree and performance like no other. Out of the number 1 cow we’ve ever bred, who has had 6 sons sell to stud (and very likely more to come yet). Taimate Roy is a super thick, highly docile bull with the massive advantage of being a genuine heifer mating bull as well a cow mating option. Roy’s first sons to sell in Australia have certainly made an impact at the 2024 Millah Murrah and Milwillah Bull Sales averaging an astonishing ~$30,000!!

Whilst being hard to top the $30,000 average, Roy has gone above and beyond by selling semen for record prices into America through world-renowned Musgrave Angus!
120 straws were offered, selling to a top of US $675 per straw and averaging US $400 per straw!
The most amazing part for us is that our Jade Park Roy calves were featured in the Musgrave Angus catalogue prior to the semen auction!!

~ OUTCROSS NZ GENETICS ~

In a Jade Park first, we have purchased a bull from across the ditch in New Zealand!!

We are very keen to announce that after successfully securing Meadowslea R818 at their 2022 stud bull auction, we have been able to negotiate an exciting shared arrangement with Meadowslea Genetics!

We at Jade Park have been searching for a reliable heifer joining with outcross genetics and Meadowslea R818 immediately ticked all the right boxes. He has very safe calving ease attributes with high fertility and an easy-doing style from his ample fat cover.

Whilst having moderate growth EBVs, his capacity is enormous as you will see in the pre-sale video. And as always, docility is an absolute non-negotiable which is never an issue with any Meadowslea Angus bulls.

R818’s outcross pedigree is super reliable with his maternal side full of prominent, proven Meadowslea cows and we were very impressed with his sire, Measdowslea ‘Meat Machine’ G914, who is a true heifer bull with trait leading calving ease EBVs and great fat cover.

Exciting times ahead at Jade Park with plenty of new genetics coming through this year and looking forward to R818’s progeny in 2023!

Beef week was a great success, with numerous bulls being sold. Lots of new local buyers and strong interest from Southern Victoria.
